After doing far too much research, I decided on the Amod AGL3080 GPS Data Logger. In testing at home, and on my first trip it worked perfectly. After 5 days in the Colorado back country, I came back and perfectly geo-tagged all my photos and using GPS Babel created Google Earth and Map My Run tracks to share. I replaced the batteries every morning and with records every 5 seconds had no issues with storage space or battery life. The included PC software is simple but works well, if you need other features, there are many free GPS applications available.

If you want a full function GPS with a display, there are other options, but if you want a simple, reliable and easy to use GPS Data logger, I can highly recomend the 3080. -- Excelent GPS Logger
The AGL3080 records GPS position information. When connected to my MacBook, it looks like a USB drive. I use GPS Babel (free) to convert the file format from NEMA standard to a GPX file. I then use GPS Photolinker (also free) to put the location info in my Nikon NEF photo files. -- I'm now adding location to my photos easily
This is a great product. I use it to geotag photos but also to keep track of my bicycle rides. Make sure you read and understand the manual before attempting to use it, as user interface is minimal and comprises only two buttons and three LEDs. You may update the firmware and the PC software from the manufacturer's Web site if needed. Battery life is excellent if you set the device to log coordinates in 10 s intervals, which should be more than enough under most circumstances.
At some point I contacted the manufacturer with a rather technical question, and they were very forthcoming and helpful about it.
-- Simple and handy
Pro's : small and very easy to use, works ok in cities.
Con's : 3 battery (what they where thinking !?!), if you want to transfer the logs you need to use 2 separate programs, definitely not MAC friendly, life of the battery is a joke

I took it with me in Africa on a safari trip. I love the way I can redo the tour and add pictures. -- good but not perfect
